FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

I’m thinking about buying whole bean coffee — what should I know?

Whole bean coffee offers the freshest and fullest flavor possible. Once coffee is ground, it begins to lose its aroma and depth fairly quickly. Grinding just before brewing preserves the character of the roast and allows you to experience it as intended.

If you’re new to whole bean coffee, the transition is simple. You’ll just need a grinder—burr grinders are especially consistent—and you can adjust the grind size depending on your brewing method.

If you currently use a Keurig-style machine, you can still enjoy whole bean coffee. Simply grind your beans and use a reusable K-Cup filter:

Many customers find that once they try freshly ground coffee, they never go back.

How much of my purchase actually supports vocations?

We commit 10% of gross revenue—not just proceeds—to support diocesan vocations. In practical terms, that’s nearly $2 from every bag of coffee sold going directly toward forming future priests.

We chose this model intentionally as a way to give with consistency, clarity, and integrity—so that every purchase tangibly advances the mission.

How does your subscription model support this mission?

We work directly with our premium Idaho manufacturer, which allows us to steward resources carefully and responsibly. A subscription model helps us plan well, reduce waste, and maintain fair pricing as we grow this mission with intention and integrity.

Why is subscribing such an important part of what you’re building?

Subscriptions allow us to grow something sustainable—slowly and faithfully. They also make it possible for every purchase to support diocesan vocations, helping form future priests for the Church.

We’re grateful to walk alongside you in this shared work.

What if I’m not ready for a regular subscription?

That’s completely fine. Many of our customers subscribe simply to have the option, even if they only receive coffee every few months.

You can pause, skip, or adjust your deliveries at any time. Subscribing gives you flexibility while still helping us plan, reduce waste, and grow this mission sustainably.

Why did you begin with a small selection of coffee?

We believe in doing a few things well. As a young, mission-driven effort, we’ve chosen to begin with a limited number of exceptional blends we fully stand behind.

This allows us to remain attentive to quality, consistency, and good stewardship. As our community grows, we look forward to thoughtfully expanding our offerings—including organic options, additional roast profiles, and mission-aligned merchandise—always with the same care, intention, and integrity that guide us today.

Do you have decaf options?

For now, only our Magisterium Blend is available in decaf, and it is offered whole bean only. As we expand, so will our selections.

How do I manage my subscription?

You can manage your subscription at any time by logging into your profile. From there, it’s simple to adjust your preferences, update payment information, or make changes to your delivery schedule.

Are one-time purchases ever available?

Yes—occasionally. When we visit parishes and conferences throughout the Treasure Valley, we offer one-time purchases in person. These moments are especially meaningful, as they allow us to connect face-to-face and share more of the mission’s story.

Is pickup available?

Orders may be picked up by prior arrangement with the Trask family after the 10:30 AM Mass at St. John’s Cathedral on Sundays, or at their residence in Southwest Boise.

When are orders shipped?

Orders ship at the beginning of each month. This consistent schedule allows our manufacturing partner to batch roast efficiently, ensuring optimal freshness, quality control, and reliable inventory planning.

By working on a predictable monthly rhythm, we’re able to deliver carefully roasted coffee you can count on.

Why do coffee and sacred art arrive in separate shipments?

Because of their different sizes and packaging needs, coffee and sacred art ship separately. This ensures each item arrives safely and with the care it deserves.

What if I’m looking for a specific piece of sacred art?

We’d love to hear from you. If there’s a piece (or a custom size) you’re seeking that isn’t currently listed, please email us. We’re always open to exploring offerings that support prayer and devotion.
